NCA Premiere Talent Search and Educator Classes Returns to Orlando
Cosmetology students and working salon professionals demonstrated their amazing creativity and talent at NCA’s Premiere Talent Search on August 27, 2006 at the Premiere Orlando Show where NCA hosted a line up of fashion focused competitions that were as exciting for the spectators as for the competitors themselves.
Competitors competed on live models and mannequins all vying for prizes ranging from third place medallions to $750 cash awards and a trophy for first place winners. Following are first place winners in the NCA’s Premiere Talent Search:

- Takia Thompson – Student Ladies Fashion Trend Cut, Color & Style
- Jacki Dale – Student Ladies Fashion Trend Cut, Color & Style – Color Award
- Michelle Clauson – Student Ladies Fashion Updo
- Chad Atwood – Student Avant Garde – Hair As Art
- Rey Garcia – Student Mens Fashion Trend Cut, Color & Style
- Rey Garcia – Student Mens Trend Cut, Color & Style – Color Award
NCA Premiere Talent Search judges included industry icons Dwight Miller, Sudzz FX; Mario Tricoci, Mario Tricoci Salon & Day Spas; Canada’s Jason Kearns and Great Britian’s Harold Leighton, as well as representatives from companies including Redken Fifth Avenue NYC, Wella, Farouk Systems and Great Clips for Hair. Leo Passage, Pivot Point International, served as NCA competition chairperson.
