NCA and Sally Beauty Recognize Talent With Beauty Scholarships
For the second year in a row, the National Cosmetology Association (NCA) has partnered with Sally Beauty to present 10 deserving individuals with scholarships at this year’s Chicago Midwest Beauty Show. A team of NCA professionals selected the talented students and professionals who each received a $1,000 Sally Scholarship to help them further their education and pursue their professional beauty careers.
“The NCA believes strongly in growing careers through education,” says Marlene Bridge, President of the NCA. “We are thrilled to join with Sally Beauty to recognize these talented individuals and to encourage their careers as salon professionals.”
This year a total of $10,000 in scholarships were awarded in three categories: five awards were given to high school graduates under the age of 25 to fund cosmetology education; three awards were given to salon professionals for continuing education; and two awards were given to children or grandchildren of NCA members to fund post secondary education. Since 1992, as part of its commitment to supporting the beauty industry, Sally Beauty has awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships to deserving salon professionals.
The winners were announced at the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show—America’s Beauty Show by Marlene Bridge, President of the NCA, and Mike Spinozzi, President of Sally Beauty Supply. The Chicago Midwest Beauty Show took place March 3-5, 2007, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
