In an industry inundated with countless claims of turning ugly ducklings into swans, only to leave the consumer flat once they leave the salon - master stylist, Sam Brocato, believes that knowledge is the key to everyday beauty.

A native of Louisiana, Brocato brings a down-home approach to beauty. Sam feels that hair design is a personal signature and is something passed along from educator to stylist to consumer. With this philosophy in mind, Sam created a line of products and an education series that form the groundwork for outstanding personal style.

"Hair truly can be emblematic of who we are - it is a representation of our personality and our life", says Sam. "When a stylist can bring this out, it creates an instant connection with the client."

Creating a connection, is what has driven Sam since opening his first salon in 1976 (with three more following) and later, two Academies of Hairdressing in Baton Rouge. Sam has shared his vision and immense talent throughout the country and the globe, and has been honored as "World Top Fashion Hairstylist," by the World Hairdressing Congress in London, and as "Editorial Stylist of the Year,” at the North American Hairstyling Awards. As the author of the book Beautiful Business, Sam shared his thoughts and visions on retailing in the salon industry. And this year, 2005, Sam has been chosen to receive NAHA’s prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award”.

Brocato is instilled with Sam's knowledge about the needs of hairstylists and clients alike, and passion for creative design and product performance. All combined, affording the consumer every opportunity to look just as great as they did when they were in the stylist's chair.

Along with his wife and two young sons, Sam recently moved to New York, where he continues his commitment to the business of beauty.
